“Representation without instrumentalisation — queer visibility on its own terms, across two continents.”
An interdisciplinary exhibition project addressing queer visibility under populist pressure. The project unites photography, painting, fashion, and poetry in a multi-city format across Germany and Colombia — a direct artistic response to the political climate of 2026.

Jan Richter,
b. 1993, Cologne.
Jan Richter (b. 1993, Cologne) is an artist and entrepreneur. Under the label Studio Richter Jan UG, he combines five mutually reinforcing disciplines: fine-art photography, neo-expressionist painting, wearable art (HAGNU), socially critical poetry, and interdisciplinary funded projects.
His photographic work invites the viewer to pause — to rediscover lost longings and fleeting moments. His paintings, influenced by Basquiat and Picasso, explore the interplay of self-reflection and human connection across canvas, everyday objects, and textiles. Both mediums share the same unmistakable signature — one that continues into the HAGNU fashion collection, which has made wearable art accessible across 140 KULT stores throughout Germany since March 2026.
In parallel, Richter pursues Yesterday's News — an interdisciplinary project developed in collaboration with artists from Europe and South America, combining photography, painting, dance, film, poetry, and textile art. The project is financed through public and private funding institutions and is planned for exhibitions in Cologne, Berlin, Hamburg, Leipzig, Bogotá, and Medellín. A poetry collection is scheduled for publication from 2027.
